Moving a Car to Hartford Connecticut

Hartford is the capital city of the U.S. state of Connecticut. It is located in Hartford County, and is the 2nd most populous city on the Connecticut River.  As of the 2010 Census, Greater Hartford was the largest metropolitan area in Connecticut with a population of 1,188,841.

Nicknamed the “Insurance Capital of the World”, Hartford houses many of the world’s insurance company headquarters; insurance remains the region’s major industry.  Almost 400 years old, Hartford is among the oldest cities in the United States.  Hartford is home to the nation’s oldest public art museum Wadsworth Atheneum, the oldest public park Bushnell Park, the oldest continuously published newspaper The Hartford Courant, the second-oldest secondary school Hartford Public.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 18.0 square miles, of which, 17.3 square miles of it is land and 0.7 square miles of it is water.

Hartford is the historic international center of the insurance industry, with companies such as Travelers, Aetna, The Hartford, The Phoenix Companies, Uniprise and Hartford Steam Boiler based in the city. The area is also home to U.S. Fire Arms and United Technologies.

Harford is also where some snowbirds move to from Florida in the hot summers.  They usually move back to Florida in the winter avoid the cold weather.  United Auto Transport has been transporting vehicles for snowbirds about twice a year to and from Hartford.
